商品概要

This is Shingrix, a recombinant inactivated zoster vaccine for people aged 50 and over. It has a higher preventive effect than the conventional live vaccine (Biken) and can also be administered to immunocompromised individuals. Two doses administered 2 months apart provide approximately 97% protection for over 9 years in individuals aged 50 and older.

This product requires an in-person visit to our clinic. Payment can be made after your visit and consultation.

Effects and benefits

It prevents herpes zoster in individuals aged 50 and above by approximately 97%, and in individuals aged 70 and above by approximately 90%.

The effect has been confirmed to last for at least 10 years.

It also has a high preventive effect against postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) of approximately 88%, contributing to the avoidance of reduced quality of life.

Sufficient preventive effects are achieved approximately one month after the second dose.

Estimated time required

The process from medical examination to vaccination to observation usually takes about 20-30 minutes.

Regarding charges

22,000 JPY (including tax) per dose / Total 44,000 JPY as two doses are required

Side effects

The frequency of side effects is slightly higher than other vaccines, but most resolve within 2-3 days.

  • Pain (78%), redness, and swelling at the injection site
  • Muscle aches (45%)
  • Fatigue (45%)
  • Headache (38%)
  • Fever (20%)
Precautions for Use

Please remember to get your second dose. One dose alone is not enough to provide sufficient protection.

Even if more than six months have passed between your first and second doses, there is no need to restart the vaccination series; getting the second dose will be sufficient.

Since side effects are relatively common, we recommend scheduling your work and other plans with some flexibility for the day after your vaccination.
