Isotretinoin is an oral medication with a vitamin A derivative (retinoid) as its main component, and is one of the most effective treatments for severe and refractory acne.

It works by shrinking the sebaceous glands and suppressing sebum secretion by approximately 80-90%, simultaneously addressing the four major causes of acne (excessive sebum, clogged pores, increased acne bacteria, and inflammation). It is widely used overseas as a standard treatment for severe acne, and high efficacy can be expected even for those who have not seen improvement with antibiotics or topical medications.

Precautions for Use

- Regular blood tests (liver function, lipids) are required during treatment.
- Blood donation is not permitted during treatment and for one month after discontinuation.
