Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae. In men, it often presents with painful urination and purulent discharge, while in women, it commonly causes abnormal vaginal discharge or is asymptomatic. Co-infection with chlamydia can also occur.

At our clinic, we check for the presence of gonorrhea through urine tests (for men), vaginal discharge tests (for women), and pharyngeal swabs. Based on the test results, treatment primarily involves injectable medication.

Due to increasing resistance of gonorrhea to oral antibiotics, treatment with injectable medication (ceftriaxone) is currently the standard. In most cases, a single injection is sufficient for a complete cure.

Having your partner also undergo testing and treatment simultaneously can prevent reinfection (ping-pong infection).

This product requires an in-person visit to our clinic. Payment can be made after your visit and consultation.

Gonococcal infection is diagnosed through urine, discharge, and pharyngeal tests. A single-dose treatment with ceftriaxone injection is standard.

Regarding charges

If you pay in advance, there will be no consultation fee. Only the displayed price will be charged.

If you pay after coming to the clinic and the amount is less than 10,000 yen, a first-visit fee (3,300 yen including tax) will be charged.

Side effects

・Pain and swelling at the injection site
・Side effects from antibiotics: rarely, rash, diarrhea
・Rarely, hypersensitivity (anaphylaxis)

Precautions for Use

・Early detection and treatment are crucial for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). If you have any suspicious symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
・Refrain from sexual intercourse during treatment and do not resume until fully cured.
・Simultaneous testing and treatment of your partner can prevent reinfection.
・If you are pregnant, please inform us as STIs can affect the fetus.

Contraindications - Those Who Cannot Use This Product

No restrictions (for examination purposes)

However, this examination alone is not suitable in the following cases:

  • Acute symptoms such as high fever or severe pain
  • Suspected emergencies such as bleeding or loss of consciousness
  • When a doctor determines that an in-person consultation is necessary
