Effects and benefits

The morning-after pill (emergency contraceptive) is a medication that prevents pregnancy when taken within 72 or 120 hours after intercourse. Since it is not 100% effective, it is necessary to confirm your expected period after taking it, and to check with a pregnancy test after three weeks.
